Marcham Park
Buildtonic is currently undertaking an extensive sash window restoration project at Marcham House, a late Georgian property within the Marcham Park estate, Oxford. The project focuses on the careful conservation and refurbishment of over 100 historic sash windows, with a strong emphasis on durability and heritage preservation.
The works involve stripping back, freeing, and overhauling all existing windows, installing weather- and draft-proofing systems, and replacing defective glazing putty. Cracked or damaged glass panes are being carefully replaced, while decayed timber sections are repaired or renewed using traditional joinery techniques. Several original windows are being replaced with bespoke timber sash windows, manufactured and installed to precisely match the original profiles and detailing.
The scope also includes full decoration of all windows, ensuring a consistent, high-quality finish throughout the property. Buildtonic is undertaking all works in strict accordance with best practice and heritage building regulations.
This project demonstrates our expertise in large-scale heritage restoration and its commitment to preserving the architectural integrity of historic properties.
